This OEM (original equipment manufacturer) pressure balance cartridge 974-5299 can be used with 0X8 single-handle tub/shower valves and fits VB8 and JV8 bodies. This reversible ceramic disc cartridge features a stainless steel spool. It includes an integrated temperature limit stop and has backwards compatibility with legacy 0X8/JX8 cartridges (such as 974-042, 974-321, 974-322, 974-5319). If your faucet leaks from the tub spout when it is turned off, then consider replacing your faucet cartridge. Fix the leak and replace the cartridge instead of replacing the entire faucet.
