NU-22B™ ist mit allen Standardölen, Gerätekomponenten und Materialien kompatibel, die in R-22-Systemen verwendet werden. Der zeitaufwändige Ölwechsel, der bei einigen anderen Ersatzkältemitteln erforderlich ist, ist nicht erforderlich. Eine Nachrüstmischung, die auf R-22 in Klimaanlagen abgestimmt ist. Es kommt zu einer leichten Kapazitätsreduzierung, die zu etwas längeren Laufzeiten führen würde. Anlagen, die zuvor auf R-417A umgerüstet wurden, können mit einer Ersatzfüllung von R-422B betrieben werden. Die Kohlenwasserstoffkomponente in R-422B fördert die Ölrückführung in Systemen, die Mineralöl oder Alkylbenzol enthalten. Obwohl sich HFKW-Kältemittel nicht mit diesen Ölen vermischen, verdünnt die Kohlenwasserstoffkomponente das Mineralöl und hält es im Kreislauf in Bewegung. Kompliziertere Rohrleitungsanordnungen oder große Rückhaltevolumina erfordern möglicherweise den Zusatz von POE.
