Das Kältemittel 410a oder R-410a ist das führende HFC-Kältemittel zum Ersatz von R-22 in Klimaanlagen und Wärmepumpensystemen für Privathaushalte und leichte gewerbliche Zwecke mit positiver Verdrängung. Es hat eine höhere Kühlleistung und einen deutlich höheren Druck als R-22 und sollte nur in Systemen verwendet werden, die speziell für R-410A ausgelegt sind. Trägt im Gegensatz zu R-22 nicht zum Ozonabbau bei. Geräte, die für Freon™ 410A ausgelegt sind, haben eine bis zu 60 % höhere Kapazität als aktuelle R-22-Geräte. Klimaanlagen mit Freon™ 410A können die örtlichen Energieleistungsrichtlinien erfüllen oder übertreffen.

Das Kältemittel R-410a wurde 1991 von Honeywell erfunden und patentiert. Carrier Corporation war das erste Unternehmen, das R-410a einführte 1996 brachten sie Klimaanlagen auf den Wohnungsmarkt und tragen den Markennamen „Puron“. 410A ist als HFKW-Kältemittel eingestuft, enthält kein Chlor und ist nicht ozonschädlich.

R-410a ersetzte R-22 als Hauptkältemittel für private und gewerbliche Klimaanlagen, Gefrierschränke und Kühlschränke. Ab 2010 können keine neuen Wechselstrommaschinen mehr mit R-22 hergestellt werden, alle zukünftigen Maschinen müssen R-410a verwenden . R-410a bietet eine große Chance und ist kurzfristig die Zukunft für private und gewerbliche Anwendungen.

Allerdings ist R-410a ein HFKW-Kältemittel und weist daher ein hohes Treibhauspotenzial auf. R-134a ist ein Cousin von 410A und wird aufgrund seines hohen Treibhauspotenzials in allen Ländern verboten. Es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis auch 410A auslaufen wird. HFO-Kältemittel werden die Zukunft sein. Es wird erwartet, dass sie teuer sind.

Damages and issues
